National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific

After my conference we went out to visit this cemetery for veterans that is set in a large crater.   It is dubbed Punchbowl and had this memorial to battles fought in the Pacific. 

Behind the statue at the top of the steps is a little chapel and along the wall it says:

You can walk around and visit the graves.  Along one side there are some great views of Honolulu, including this one where you can make out the mountain in the background with diamond head.  We plan on doing that hike on Wednesday morning.
